Edventure x FFN Start-up Course update: A food truck for Frome

To those who offered your thoughts around what we could do to engage young people in a social and sustainable food context – thank you!

Comments that stood out included an emphasis on 'building food literacy skills', providing 'something cool that appeals to teens', and encouraging young people after school to 'muck in'.

The melting pot of ideas has helped us decide Edventure's challenge – to create a young person-led food truck.

While this deviates from our original idea of a Long Table-style 'space', it does make the project more tangible, and allows the bringing of delicious, climate-friendly food to young people, rather than the other way around.

Lest we forget, ultimately this challenge is about starting a conversation with young people in Frome, igniting their passion for food, and paving the way towards a more healty, vibrant, and sustainable Food Town.

Now that we have a more concrete idea of where Start-up will... well, start, firstly: are there any relevant connections we should know? Any efforts that may be funnelled into this?

And secondly: Is there anyone you know – whatever their age – who may be up for the challenge?

If so, do encourage them to apply.
